The SOLE Challenge Class is included in full private school enrollment but is also available as a partial enrollment option.   Come join the fun!  $5 per class, $300 per year
We incorporate the S.O.L.E. method as created by Sugata Mitra, a professor at Newcastle University in England.  SOLE (Self-Organizing Learning Environments) were inspired by children’s ability to teach themselves when given access to the Internet.  We use this method to inspire children to learn to find answers to anything they desire to know.
Students are given questions such as, “If a meteorite was headed near earth how would you know if it would hit our planet?” Students work in small groups on a computer online to research the question, and then the groups present what they have found to the class.  This empowers students in their own learning, helps establish a society of self motivated learners and builds oral speaking skills, social skills, and knowledge.  More information:  http://www.ted.com/pages/sole_challenge

Grandmothers in the Cloud

Part of the SOLE method includes inviting grandmothers to volunteer 1 hour at a time to offer encouragement.  We need the grandmothers to say. "Wow, how did you do that?  Show me that again! and That's Amazing."  Grandmothers can come to the school in person or offer encouragement over Skype.
